Accent Society

Founded by Na Zhong and Jiaoyang Li to redefine Chinese Literature in the Anglophone literary scene, Accent Society is a home to authentic writings from Chinese writers and artists around the world. Our mission is to discover, cultivate, and promote underrepresented voices and daring artistic visions.

Accent, something that non-native speakers “suffer” when speaking in a foreign tongue, derives its meaning from Latin accentus, literally meaning “to sing.” It is also a sound made with emphasis, a note with urgency and intensity.
