Leaving the body, what will the clothes be? Di Gao transforms traditional knitting and crocheting into a meditative art form. Experimenting with materials like copper wire, yarn, and thread, Di Gao's work, blending structure and aesthetics, infuses elements of culture and art, resulting in futuristic pieces often mistaken for 3D printed works. Di Gao's collections, reminiscent of buildings, armors, and aquatic life, showcase their innovative approach, redefining traditional crafting techniques with a modern vision.

DI GAO is a graduate of the Parsons Fashion Design and Society Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program, debut at New York Fashion Week and participated in the Red Hook Labs static exhibition with her graduation project. Her work has been featured in fashion magazines such as Vogue Runway, DEW, Lula Japan, 1 Granary, Schon Magazine, and Noisé. In 2017, she collaborated with Swarovski on a collection displayed in the window of the SONY Building at 550 Madison Avenue. In 2018, she was a finalist in the International Talent Support (ITS) Contest in Italy. In 2019, she won the Flying Solo Prize and participated in the Spring New York Fashion Week of the same year. DI GAO has worked as a knitwear designer at Alexander Wang, Coach, and Kate Spade, and is currently employed at Thom Browne.
