Shangyang Fang grew up in Chengdu, China, and writes both in English and Chinese. A graduate from Michener Center for Writers, he received a Wallace Stegner fellowship from Stanford University. His works appeared in The Nation, Ploughshares, The Yale Review, The Best American Poetry, The Best of Net, The Pushcart Prize Anthology, and The Forward Book of Poetry Anthology. He is the author of the poetry collection, Burying the Mountain (Copper Canyon Press, 2021). Currently a visiting assistant professor of English Language & Literature at Whitman College, Shangyang will join UMass Boston as a tenure-track professor of English and Creative Writing in Fall 2023.
Daniel Ruiz is a Puerto Rican poet and translator. He is a recipient of fellowships from the Fulbright Foundation and the Michener Center for Writers. His manuscript, Reality Checkmate, has been a finalist for the National Poetry Series, the Brittingham & Felix Pollack Prizes, the Test Site Poetry Series, and the Bergman Prize. His poems can be found in POETRY, Crazyhorse, Missouri Review, Bennington Review, Meridian, and elsewhere.
